It’s hard to believe it, but we’re already in September. We know. It’s been a long year.
But what September means is National Child Protection Week. As many people will know, Safe Ministry Check seeks to see churches establish a safe culture for all people, including children. Child protection is one of our biggest motivators as children are vulnerable people who need to be protected and cared for.
NAPCAN, the key team behind National Child Protection Week, have some great resources on their website which are worth having a look at. One of the things one their website that we completely agree with is the idea that we’re all responsible for child safety.
In the past, a lot of ministry organisations have seen safe ministry as the responsibility of the kids pastor and their kids team. But one of the things we encourage churches to think about is having their whole church on their safe ministry team.
For National Child Protection Week, why not consider how you might get your whole church trained for safe ministry. Click here for some ideas on how you might do it.
