NSW WWCC Validation Set Up

Safe Ministry Check provides a tool which allows churches and ministry organisations to do automated validation of their working with children check information. As each state has different requirements, some states have extra extra steps to allow you to use Safe Ministry Check for your validation.

Here are some instructions for setting up your SMC account to do WWCC validation in NSW.

1. Create A Validation Organisation Account.

Firstly, you’ll need to register as an employer that needs to validate working with children check information.

To do this, go to the Office of the Children’s Guardian page for working with children checks. Find the section titled, “I’m An Employer” and click register.

Put in all your details and apply to be a Checking Organisation. If you’ve done this in the past, that’s great. Just check that your log in details are still usable.

Once you’ve been accepted and approved as an organisation, you’ll be ready for the next step.

2. Entering Your Login Details In SMC

Once you have your organisation account, to do your validation through SMC, you need to enter your login details in the Safe Ministry Check Auto Screening Options page.

Start by logging into the SMC Dashboard.

Click on settings, and choose “Auto Screening Options” from the drop down menu.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and you’ll find two boxes. Here is where you put in your NSW WWCC validation details. This will allow you to use the Safe Ministry Check system to complete your WWCC validation.

As with all the other states, it’s important to remember that the responsibility for validation of WWCC details belongs to those who employ people working with children, including voluntarily. SMC is a tool to make the process of validation more efficient.
